Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015: A Cut above the Rest

Widely recognised as the largest and most significant fine jewellery event in the region, Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015 will open its doors from 22-25 October at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. From the most coveted to the most practical, the third edition of the fair will see an expanded range of irresistible propositions to satisfy every desire for fine jewellery and gems.

Southeast Asia’s most important jewellery show will present more than 200 exhibitors representing every gem and jewellery sector in 10 themed and country pavilions. Counting internationally-acclaimed jewellers from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, USA, Singapore and other parts of the world as its exhibitors, the fair will awe visitors with a massive selection of uniquely crafted jewellery and gemstones.

With a showcase of more than 100,000 pieces of fine jewellery as well as loose gems, diamonds, precious stones, and pearls ranging from affordable pricing to millions of dollars, the fair promises the ultimate jewellery shopping experience for everyone.

Visitors can expect endless options from luxurious collectibles to everyday wear pieces and from engagement rings to gifts for someone special. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to win attractive prizes such as hotel vouchers and skincare hampers at the daily lucky draws, as well as a two-day-one-night stay at Marina Bay Sands Orchid Suite.

Apart from its sheer size, the fair is also markedly differentiated in the regional marketplace for extending exclusive quality items “from the source” at the most alluring prices to its visitors. This is possible as its exhibitors are manufacturers and wholesalers supplying jewellery and gemstones to big, reputable brands and jewellery chain stores across the globe.

The Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair is exclusively endorsed and supported by the Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) and the Diamond Exchange of Singapore (DES). It is an event by UBM Asia, organiser of the most professional international jewellery fairs in 15 cities, including the world’s number one fine jewellery event; the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair.

For the first time, the Diamond Exchange of Singapore will be hosting a gala dinner on 22 October, 2015 at the Marina Bay Sands in conjunction with Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015. Titled “Diamonds in the Rough”, the event celebrates SG50 and comprises a charity auction whereby proceeds will go towards the Singapore Repertory Theatre (SRT) Children’s Fund.

Another first at the fair is the exclusive SG50 Exhibition featuring Singapore’s heritage in the arts of fine jewellery making, in commemoration of the nation’s Golden Jubilee. The exhibition will give a rare peek into Singapore’s rich and fascinating history in jewellery through a unique showcase of vintage jewellery and rare antiques from the different cultures and ethnic groups dated from as early as the 19th century.

In collaboration with reputable education partners – the Euromonitor International, Gemological Institute of America Laboratory Bangkok (GIA) and the Jewellery Design and Management International School (JDMIS) – the fair will present a series of seminars conducted by a panel of reputable speakers.

Touching on topics such as “Fluorescence of Diamonds” and “The Connoisseurs’ Guide to Appreciating Jewellery”, these seminars will leverage on the speakers’ insights and expertise to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation for jewellery amongst aficionados and new collectors alike.

Singapore Jewellery & Gem Fair 2015 will be opened from 11am to 8pm from 22-24 October, 2015 and 11am to 7pm on 25 October, 2015.
